OUR SERVICES
Auxiliary
Established in 1902, we are an incorporated, registered charity and a 100% volunteer-run organization. Our goal is to improve, enhance, and promote the quality of life for patients served by Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH). Currently, we have about 82 Auxiliary volunteers, most of whom work at our fundraising venues: our Gift Shop, Lottery Booth, and New to You Thrift Shop.

We also have many Auxiliary and outside volunteers contributing both inside RCH and from home. Their work includes:

Maintaining the emergency clothing cupboard for patients needing clothing upon discharge.

Creating renal belts for dialysis patients.

Sewing heart pillows for patients undergoing open heart surgery.

Knitting items for sale in our RCH Gift Shop, such as dishcloths, blankets, and hats.

Assembling comfort packs for children in the Emergency Department.

Book Cart
Located in the lobby of Royal Columbian Hospital, our book cart offers a wide variety of reading options. This service is available to everyone 24/7. All we ask is that you make a cash donation of your choice in exchange for a book or magazine.
